Amplifier Networks has announced its schedule of classes for 2008 and 2009. Adding to its well received classes on venture capital and business plans, Amplifier Networks has added a range of new classes intended to help entrepreneurs establish and grow new businesses. Classes begin November 4, 2008.

Amplifier Network will be offering its popular Business Plan 101 course on June 18.
While most companies view business planning as a necessary evil, it's a crucial step in creating the best possible business. John Hurley,Senior Executive, DLA Venture Pipeline Group, says, "We have read hundreds of business plans for companies that could have been market contenders if they had been more diligent about plotting out their future."
In the Business Plan 101 course, Hurley will provide an overview of the seven critical sections of a business plan, as well as the information needed to make a business plan drive a desired transaction. Class will be held at DLA Piper in Reston from 2PM to 4PM, and will be limited in size to allow participants to ask questions.

In addition to its upcoming Venture Capital 102 class on May 14, Amplifier Network has added another Business Plan 101 course to its schedule on May 21. Instructor John Hurley says that business planning is not a one-shot deal -- it's an essential, ongoing process that benefits the mature company as well as the early and growth stage company.

Business Plan 101
For the smart entrepreneur, business planning is the process of planning ahead, organizing your company for success, and then executing that plan. Instructor John Hurley, Senior Executive, DLA Venture Pipeline Group, will provide an overview of the seven critical sections of the business plan, as well as the information you need to include to make your plan drive a desired transaction.

Venture Capital 102 : Advanced Venture Capital for the Entrepreneur
Get an insider’s view of the mechanics of a venture capital deal. Jonathan Aberman and Don Rainey, adjunct professors at the Smith Business School University of Maryland and active venture investors themselves, will provide a practical introduction to the dynamics of a venture capital transaction. Attendees at this intensive four hour workshop will learn "hows and whys" of specific terms of a venture capital deal, with a concentrated focus on term sheet negotiation. Any entrepreneur preparing to seek venture capital should take this class.

Join Amplifier Network on April 23 for the next class in its Get Educated Series, Venture Capital 101. Jonathan Aberman and Don Rainey, Adjunct Professors at the Smith Business School University of Maryland and active investors themselves, will share their perspectives on finding the right VC and presenting compelling business plans. Aberman, Managing Director, Amplifier Venture Partners and Rainey, General Partner, Grotech Capital Group, will cover such questions as “What do VCs look for in an entrepreneur and his/her idea?” and “Where can capital be found in the DC Area?”.
