Vienna, Va. -- Looking to expand its government footprint, Vienna-based Sage Communications, a provider of marketing communications services, said that it has acquired Falls Church-based counterpart JDG Communications. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. "JDG's business is comprised of more than 90% federal and state and local government agencies which complements Sage's commercial focus," said Larry Rosenfeld, the CEO of Sage. JDG's clients include the General Services Administration (GSA), Federal Trade Commission, Department of Treasury, Small Business Administration (SBA) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Sage said that the acquisition will increase its 25-person staff by about half, with all employees working out of its current office in Vienna. Len Johnson, the president of JDG, will continue to lead the business, which will become a unit of Sage.
