McLean, Va. -- Making a major bid to bolster its cyber security offerings, McLean-based QinetiQ North America, a McLean-based provider of defense and security technology to the federal government, said on Wednesday that it will acquire Arlington-based Cyveillance, a provider of online monitoring services designed to help companies guard against Internet threats.

Washington, DC -- Nicor Global, a year-old DC-based developer of cyber security software and services, said on Wednesday that it has raised $1 million in new funding from The Musser Group and Galaxy Technology.

Rockville, Md. -- Expression Pathology, a Rockville-based developer of technology used to analyze tissue protein, said that it has raised $6.5 million in a new round of funding, led by California-based Abraxis BioScience.

Bethesda, Md. -- American Capital, a Bethesda-based private equity firm with $14 billion under management, said that it has received $22 million from the sale of Ohio-based portfolio company Corrpro to a unit of Missouri-based Insituform Technologies.

Annapolis, Md. -- The Chesapeake Regional Tech Council, a membership association for the technology community in the Annapolis-Washington-Baltimore region, has named the winners of its fourth annual TechAwards.

Fairfax, Va. -- ICF International, a Fairfax-based provider of policy, management and technology consulting services, said on Wednesday that it has completed its $155 million acquisition of Macro International, a Calverton, Md.-based provider of research, management consulting, marketing communications and information services to federal agencies.
